Lincoln "City" Fire Station

A recent ride brought a visit by the recently opened Ellendale VFCo No 1's No 2 station in Lincoln DE. Have posted about this new station before but wanted to verify exactly what is run from here.

The address of Station 75 No 2 is 8731 North Old State Road south of Greely Avenue. Lincoln is along the railroad east of US 113 between Ellendale and Milford in northern Sussex County.

  1. Just some minor info on your two posts on the station, the reason for "City" in the name is because that is the proper name of the area. If you go back to the census documents since the beginning of the area in the late 1800's, it was always named Lincoln City. It was originally laid out with the intention (by the planner, not necessarily the county) to be the county seat, however, he died before finishing the layout of the city and the area was never incorporated, remaining an unincorporated community to this day. Also, the address of the station is 8751 (for Station 75) North Old State Road.
